Our first paper is now published in Cancer Discovery! A huge effort that involved the generation of multiple mouse models, identification of targeted therapy opportunities, and an extremely productive (and ongoing) Transatlantic partnership with our collaborators. Many congratulations to Michael and Anto for all their hard work and ingenuity!

Incredibly humbled to announce that we have been awarded a CRUK Career Establishment Award! An important endorsement of our approach and efforts thus far. Thanks to my team and collaborators, and can't wait to get started! We're now #recruiting a #postdoc and research #assistant to help us uncover tumour/stromal interactions and precision therapy approaches using *various* in-house mouse models of paediatric #glioma at #Cambridge. Get in touch if you're interested!
And this month also marks the official start of Michael's PhD programme here in Cambridge! Good luck Michael-- we're all rooting for you!

We were finally able to host the Parsons-Smart family in person to show them around the lab and talk about science! We remembered Emily fondly. We will use this visit as inspiration to continue working hard to understand more about this cancer, and to think creatively about experimental treatment strategies that one day may improve survival.

Antonella is expecting a baby girl in April!
All the best Antonella and family, we look forward to your return in the fall!

We recently held a virtual event to recognise the amazing contribution that Emily Parsons and family have made to our work. Emily single-handedly raised over £50,000 for research into H3K27M gliomas.
Read more about Emily here.
Emily's JustGiving page can be found here.
Emily is an inspiring individual, and her story is incredibly moving, motivating us like nothing else can to continue to persist in understanding and picking apart this disease, responsible for a large proportion of cancer-related death in children and young people.
Thank you Emily.

We are happy to have contributed to the seminal work recently published in Cell by the Jabado and Kleinman labs, in which they identify interneuron progenitors as the cell-of-origin in H3.3-G34R paediatric gliomas.

We have received a grant from Brain Research UK to study the role of ATRX loss and G-quadruplexes in paediatric gliomas. We hope to also test new combination therapies for tumours that harbour ATRX loss. Read more about the project here.
This funding will allow us to make the most of our models and available research infrastructure here at CRUK CBTCE.
